To hear more about Kryolan read part I of this series...
So last time I talked about Kryolan, and said I would do a Kryolan and Urban Decay series...Kryolan and Urban Decay haven't collaborated, but I have for them! Yay!
The first time I blogged about my discovering how amazing they work together, I did a Mermaid In A Fishnet look, which was a lot of fun...I got amazing compliments on the unlikely pairings of color choices, and medium choces. So I decided to change it up a bit....still using the Kryolan Interferenze palette (its the only one I have) and the Urban Decay Deluxe palette. I created an entirely new look and using different colors in different places, and an entirely new concept and eye shape.
This look features dramatic eyes that contain several of the UD Deluxe palette's hues, and the Interferenze as well as a little Make Up Forever and MAC thrown into the mix. Below the dramatic eyes is a nude face with an airbrushed finish and a glossy Ultraglide lip, one of Urban Decay's newest items. The Ultraglides are so pigmented and durable, and taste faintly decadent with flavors ranging from Tangerine (Quiver), and Cinnamon Rolls (Deep), I will be using the Sugar Cookie (Lust) one today. There are four other shades, but I suppose I can feature a review on those later.
This look is not a typical played out rainbow eye, so don't worry...I call it Rainbow Sorbet because the colors aren't equal parts in application, and kind of just smoke into other colors, just like Rainbow Sorbet...Its got a refreshing seventies vibe to it...
You will be hungry at the end of the tutorial...
1. So as always prep and prime the face, apply shadow or lid primer to the lid, and lip conditioner.
2. Take a purple eyeliner pencil, I used MAC's Pearglide in Designer Purple, but any bright purple will do. Urban Decay makes a gorgeous bright purple 24/7 liner called Lust. Ransom 24/7 Liner from Urban Decay is a bit dark, but if you wish you can go with that, and apply lightly. Draw with a light hand a line above your actual crease following the shape of your real crease. Then for the outer corners, you want to draw the line in nice soft rounded shape, into the outer corner of the eye. Make sure the line rounds upward, rather than downward, or the result will be an unpleasing downturned eye shape.
3. Now take you MAC 219 Pencil Dome brush, and the Make Up Forever eyeshadow in #92 (famous purple) and soften the edges at the top of the pencil...you should see no harsh pencil lines.
4. Using the MAC 217 shader and blender brush, and take the MUFE #92, and blend it out and upward in the outer corner, and smooth it inward, following the crease.
5. Using a soft midtone pink (I used the Coastal Scents Palette) and smooth out the color a bit with the 217 so it blends out nicely...
6. Take the Kryolan Interferenze palette and spray Fix Plus on the brush and dip it into the Strauss Wine color which is a pink/violet color. Pat this color on the lid about 3/4 of the way in.
7. Using the Kryolan Interferenze palette and Fix Plus spray and a flat brush dip the brush into the yellow color, and pat on the inner lid, and into the tear duct, and a little on the lower lid in the inner tear duct area.
8. Using Urban Decay Deluxe palette and the Fishnet color, take the 239 brush and pat the color over the Strauss wine.
9. Using the UD Deluxe palette and the Honey color pat over all the yellow Kryolan base.
10. Blend the Honey and Fishnet eyeshadows together so that they are seamless.
11. Take the Urban decay 24/7 liner in Flipside or Electric or any other teal or turquoise liner and line the lower lid. Using the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero (black) tight line the upper waterline, and the lower waterline.
12. Using the MAC 219, and the UD Deluxe color in Peace (bright blue) smudge out the liner and set it with this color.
13. Take the UD Deluxe Palette and the 217 and lightly tap the brush into the Ransom eyeshadow (Dark Purple) into the crease area that seperates the lid from the Make Up Forever #92. Add more if you want, but start off with a little so the vibrancy isn't lost.
14. Apply MAC's Blacktrack fluid line, and pull out a bit on the end so it is athicker line at the outer eye, and tail off in a fine tail.
15. Set the inner part with Zero. Set the outer part and tail with UD's Graffiti and Zero.
16. Apply Foundation and setting powder.
17. Use a bright coral blush and apply lightly. Use a soft pink highlight color where you desire. I like to use it on my cheekbones, and down my nose. cOntour and bronze if you like.
18. Apply Make Up Forever's Aqua Lip in 18C Coral. Fill lips in after outlining.
19. Use Urban Decay's Ultraglide in Lust (baby pink with gold shimmer-sugar cookie flavor).
