Some great Disney songs came from this movie. This is another great character to do I think, because she is still a Princess too. She is royalty in China and part of the Fa family. Did I spell her name right? So here is some cosmetic surgery make up tips, and I love to blend, so this look will go well with any face, your not gonna have your eyeball here, and a line here. Unless you do it wrong. There is no contouring for cheekbones for Mulan's face, no bronzer, so its not that difficult, the tricks are in the eyeliner, and makeing your face appear more oval.
1. So start by moisturizing the skin with your favorite moisturizer, this creates a shield between you and your foundation so the oils of the product aren't getting into your pours and ruining them. Let it soak for ten minutes.
2. Move onto the eyes. Apply eyelid primer like Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion.
3. Apply lip conditioner, balm, or chapstick to the lips and let them sit so that you have perfect moist lips when its time to do them. Since Mulan's lips are a bit rich in color, you don't want dry skin to stand out.
4. Apply MAC's Paint Pot in Bare Study or MAC's Paint (tube) in Bare Canvas (both are pale biege with pink pearl) to the lid and into crease with your fingertip, not your nails.
5. Using MAC's 227 (fabulous fatty eye blending brush-natural black brush-sooo soft) and MAC's eyeshadow in Rice Paper (peachy gold with shimmer-frost) to the brow bone and blend all the way down on the lid. This is your highlight and eyeshadow base color.
6. Using MAC's 217 brush (crease blending brush) and MAC's eyeshadow in Modellete (soft brown-satin-was repromoted with MAC's Warm & Cozy Collection) apply the shadow to the crease line. This technique is called cutting the crease. Using the MAC 224 and no product blend out the harsh line.
7. Using Urban Decay's liquid liner in Pervursion (matte black) start at the center of the lid, and gently pull up the outer corner of lid, and draw upward. your not going to extend the tail out anymore than one centimeter. The line can be made thicker, but keep it close the lash line as possible. Draw a thin line starting at the inner tear duct of black liner, and carefully keep an even stroke back to the center and connect the line.
8. Using MAC's Eye Kohl in Teddy (brown) fill in the waterline all the way. Smudge out outer corner so you have a beautiful exotic look.
9. Using MAC's 219 and MAC's Modelette eyeshadow (repromote-soft brown with satin finish) draw a thin line under lash line.
10. Using MAC's Studio Fix mascara in Black Fix apply several coats starting at the base of the lash, and wiggle upward.
11. Apply Andrea's Modlashes in #301 (black half lashes) or you can cut a demi lash in half if you can't find these. Wait for glue to become tacky and press on with fingertips gently for one minute. When glue dries seal with Urban Decay's Pervursion liquid liner so it appears seamless.
12. Apply liquid foundation or gel based foundation.
13. Using MAC's Cremeblend blush in So Sweet So Easy (MAC in Lillyland Collection-soft yellow pink) and stipple it on the apples of the cheeks.
14. Using MAC's blush in Well Dressed (immaculate pink-satin) apply to apples of cheeks with a blush brush in a circular motion, and blend into hairline.
15. If you have a broad forehead or squarer face what you can do to the her oval face is to take a matte bronzer like Benefit's Hoola or MAC's Blunt and contour the sides of the forehead, and hairline. Cheekbone shading will only accentuate your face shape.
16. Apply your setting powder, but not over your blush.
17. Mulan's lips are gonna be similar to Pocahontas. Except I can contour more cupids bow shape a little more. Using Urban Decay's 24/7 lip crayon in Naked line lips and fill in.
18. Using MAC's Pro Long Wear lip color in For Keeps (dewey plum with shimmer) apply over pencil, and let it sit till it is completely dry.
19. Apply MAC's lipstick in Sophisto (dewey plum with pearl).
20. Using Stila Lip Plumper Lip Glaze in Candy (rich coral pink) apply over it for a full dark long lasting dewey pink lip with some Disney shimmer.
*Note-There is some continuity with the Disney Princess looks-I did that on purpose because they do have similar faces, and colors, etc. But there are characters that are sooo similar when I looked at them, like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, that I really added a couple touches to set some ladies apart. I kept it true to their look, and I kept it Disney!
