I only bought one thing from MAC's newest In The Groove Collection...can you blame me? It was full of mineralize eyeshadows which I own two and rarely use...and then the Cremesheen's and the Cremesheen glosses....which are ok...not a fan of that texture...it gets goopy if you wear with lipgloss...and then there were the MSF's which I was excited about....I own Comfort, and By Candlelight though, from Warm & Cozy. I was most excited for Petticoat's repromotion...gorgeous color reminds me of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice creammmm...nammannnammm....and then there was Stereo Rose MSF whcih according to Pinkiecharm on Youtube it reminds her of NARS Orgasm, so I will have to see for myself baring that in mind. I plan on getting that next week, and possibly two more things from Alice + Olivia, the I.Want.Candy Dazzleglass Creme which is the brilliant yellow one, and Later... pigment...the cool black one with violet pearl.
So here is a pretty look featuring one In The Groove repromote, and one permanent item that was featured in the collection...Not to mention duochrome magic!!
1. Prep and prime the skin, lids, and lips.
2. Using MAC's Green Grease Greasepaint Stick from Art Supplies apply to the lids just below the crease. Smooth it out a bit with a flat concealer brush. Do to the fact that all the Greasepaint sticks in the collection were blackened colors they bring out duochrome shadows just as nicely with that added punch of color. If you missed out on these, black cream base will work nicely to achieve the look.
3. Using MAC's eyeshadow in Gorgeous Gold (yellow gold with green duochrome) and smooth it out with the MAC 239 brush covering the Green Grease Greasepaint stick completely. Using the MAC 217 blender and shader brush smooth it into the crease a bit to cover the base line.
4. Using Urban Decay's 24/7 pencil in Graffiti (bright green) and apply it into the crease to smooth out any line that may have been unprecise. Draw an outer < shape in the outer corner. This technique will cut the crease and make it precise as well as pull the shadow out to help achieve a sultry eye look.
5. Using MAC's eyeshadow in Club (green with reddened bronze duochrome) and apply it into the inner and outer corner of the lid.
6. Using Cailyn's Cosmetics mineralize eyeshadow in Banana (bright yellow) pat this color into the center of the lid. You can also use MAC's Primary Yellow pigment, or Golden Lemon, get creative and utilize what you have. This will add a shine in the center of the lid.
7. Now take your MAC 224 blender and smooth out the application of colors.
8. Using the MAC 222 tapered blender and Micabella Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Iridescence (looks like OCC's newst color in Wasabi) or any green that kind of reminds you of Tinkerbell's dress, and apply into half the crease. Smooth over the Urban Decay line of Graffiti to set it.
9. Using MAC's eyeshadow in Gorgeous Gold again, and smooth it out in the inner crease, and tear duct.
10. Using MAC's eyeshadow in Orb (peachy nude) and smooth it out onto the brow bone.
11. Using MAC's eyeshadow in Crystal Avalanche (shimmery white) and smooth it out in the outer brown bone on top of Orb.
12. Using MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline and an angled brush apply a thin line of gel liner.
13. Set it with a black eyeshadow.
14. Using a black liner pencil line the waterlines.
15. Using Urban Decay's Graffiti 24/7 liner line the outer corner lashline and bring it up into a wing to connect to the outer corner on top.
16. Using Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Baked (gold) and apply into the inner lower lashline.
17. Set the line with MAC's eyeshadow in Gorgeous Gold.
18. Using MAC's Pro eyeshadow in Bottle Green (bottle green) and the MAC 217 apply in the very outer corner of the lid and blend out.
19. Apply foundation.
20. Using MAC's Blushcreme in Posey (bright pink) and apply to cheeks. Set with MAC's MSF in Petticoat.
21. Apply Setting powder.
22. Apply MAC's Iridescent Loose Powder in Golden Bronze to the nose bridge and cheek bones.
23. I like to do eyebrows and highlight above and under them then smmoth out the lines with a concealer brush for a more natural highlighted effect.
24. Now take MAC's Naked Liner (Too Fabulous) and line and fill in. Now take MAC's Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme D Nude (Permanent-Featured with In The Groove) and fill in lips.
25. Dab a little bit of MAC's Superglass in Sugar Overload on top in the center only.
