So I was looking for something cute and unique to get inspired by, and I was thinking...cartoons! The Winnie The Pooh Christmas Special was a favorite of my sisters as well as mine growing up. Eeyore seemed to be the most inspirational character for me to do a look inspired from...He's so cute, and his colors are vibrant. This it is not a Christmas look, but I was thinking of the Winnie The Pooh Christmas Special when I was thinking of one of my favorite all time cartoons I liked to watch growing up.
Although Eeyore is known to be a little depressed from time to time, he is still a cutie, and you certainly won't feel depressed in the look. Not with all the compliments you'll get! So if you are a girly girl, and you love blue, violet, and pink here is a girly girl look with cool colors with some sparkle and shine.
I utilized all of Eeyore's colors....no stones unturned!
1. Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion to the eyelids.
2. Using Make Up Forever's Ford Gras Flash Color (cream eyeshadow) in their deepest indigo blue, apply to eyelids with finger tips gently or with a stiff brush. Try to keep the product even on the eyelids.
3. Using a shader brush and Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool (rich sky blue just like Eeyore with shimmery iridescent sparkles) and pat over cream base, and a little into the crease. Using an angled shader brush make sure color application is even in crease. Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool is important, it is the body of Eeyore. If you want a non-shimmer pretty pale shade I also really like Winkle from MAC.
4. Apply Urban Decay's eyeshadow in ABC Gum to brow bone. Next apply MAC eyeshadow in Pincurl (iridescent cool toned frosty white from the Love Lace Collection) to the outer brow bone for a highlight color. This color just softens the look.
5. Next apply Urban Decay's 24/7 blendable eye pencil in Yeyo (white) to the inner tear duct for optimum highlight effect, and also opens the eye since the colors are soooo rich, and then apply MAC's eyeshadow in Pincurl over it, and blend out so the tear duct doesn't look harsh.
6. Now take Make Up Forever's eyeshadow in #92 (matte dark purple) and using a small angled brush like the 272 or 275 from MAC sweep part way into crease from the outer eyelid. Angle up into a wing shape in the outer corner with a make up remover wip eof Q-tip. This may take work. Frosts, shimmers, and mattes are harder to blend together. But soooo worth it. This dark purple is for his hair color. How cute!!
7. Now take Urban Decay eyeshadow in Hot Pants (shimmery pink) and apply into the inner part of the crease. Blend well so it diffusese into the dark purple. The sweet pink color is for his snout and inner ears.
8. Now take Urban Decay eyeshadow in Jinx or any real true royal blue with shimmer and blend into the very outer corner of eyelid for depth.
9. For the inner portion of eyelid (not highlight in tear duct) take a shimmery sparkley mineral make up lavender like Bare Mineral's in Berry Flambe or Micabella Shimmer Powder in #96 Nuisance, or try Urban Decay eyeshadow in Asphyxia and pat onto the inner eyelid. This color cover's his tummy color.
10. Reapply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool to the center of lid. I want the Kiddie Pool to really pop out since it is Eeyore's body color. Do this step as well for any of the other colors that may have suffered any overblending or blurring.
11. Clean up any fall out.
12. Take Urban Decay's 24/7 blendable eye pencil in Lust (electric violet) and draw in the waterline, and under the lashline just a little.
13. Now take Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool (again) and press into the MAC 219 dome stiff pencil shader brush and apply under the eyes for an eyeliner color, use Kiddie Pool to set the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Lust.
14. Take Make Up Forever's eyeshadow in #92 (matte dark purple) and the MAC 219 again, and darken the outer corner of the under eye area for depth and blend out with the 219.
15. Using Kat Von D's felt tip pen in Trooper (black) and apply to lash line in a small line just to deepen the eyelash bed color. Eeyore's eyelid does droop a bit, works for him, but won't be cute as part of any beauty make up look.
16. Take Ardell's fashion lashes in #113 black (looks like MAC #2's, you can see website for reference). These lashes are long lovely and flirty. Apply with clear glue. wait for glue to become tacky. Press outer corners down and marry your lashes by squeezing the centers together. This way you don't look like you have two sets of lashes. Try an eyelash applicator if you want, some tweezers to hold if your fingers are larger or shakey, please don't push down with a pencil! Ouch!
17. Using Urban Decay's glitter eyeliner in Air Guitar (sparkley sky blue) follow the lash band shape once the eyeliner and the lashes are dried and secure. This will add some sparkle and cover the lash band. Too Faced, MAC and NYX Candy Eyeliners are all brands that make good glitter eyeliners. Choose a sky blue. It makes the UD eyeshadow in Kiddie Pool really pop.
18. Clean up fall out, moisturize or prime face. Apply Benefit's Moon Beam (gold illuminator for a dewey sheen) to area under eyes, nose bridge, forehead, and cheekbones.
19. Apply foundation and setting powder.
20. Sweep NARS blush in Orgasm onto the apples of cheeks (peachy with shimmer) and blend back into hairline. This peachy color is for his sweet little snout, and yes I know I covered his snout before.
21. Sooooo....one color I didn't cover...the bow on his tail!! Apply Too Faced lipstick in Marcia Marcia Marcia (bubblegum frosty pink) and apply MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus (bubble gum pink sparkley lip glass). If you think the sparkley lips and sparkely eyes are over kill try Stila Lip Glaze in Candy. Or if you are a MAC girl there are several bubble gum matte pink lip sticks and MAC Lustre Glasses (creamy gloss with no sparkle) to choose from.
