My MAC Blush Collection & Thoughts Part 4: Pink, Plum, and Tan Blushes

macpro.com

I will continue with an overview of MAC blushes since they are my biggest collection of blush by a brand.

MAC blushes come in categories...Pro, regular MAC, cream base, cremeblend, blush creme, mineralize skin finish, mineralize, beauty powder, highlight powder, iridescent loose powder, powder blush in an array of finishes, and what is sold as an eyeshadow can be used as blush as well.

I will kick Part 4 (omg) off with my collection of pink powder blushes...

1. MAC Powder Blush in Well Dressed (Satin) MAC describes this blush as immaculate pink. It is a perfectly pretty shade of pink with no shimmer, just a nice soft color and soft finish. To be honest it is a bit pale for me...therefore I like to use this shade as a topping to top off my cream blushes that are pink, or to tone down orangey blushes...

2. MAC Powder Blush in Dollymix (Sheertone Shimmer) This is a mid tone bright pink blush....Its not the brightest shade of pink, but its not a safe zone pink...this is a nice color for the summer, it gives a nice glowy sunkissed look. A lot of people own this blush, and I used to love bright pink blush till I discovered coral, (Bare Minerals Blush in Fruit Cocktail) and didn't own one a bright pink that worked with my skin type till I bought Dollymix. Bare Minerals makes me break out.

So thats it for what I consider true pink blushes...I have other pinks, but they have potent yellow undertones so I categorized them as coral blush...my other pink blushes are not powder blush therefore not in this category...

MAC Plum Powder Blush:

3. MAC Powder Blush in Plum Foolery (Sheertone Shimmer) Another sheertone shimmer...so this blush is a nice sheertone shimmer blush that falls into the plum category. Its a very soft plum shade witgh what I consider bronze or earthy undertones. I like this blush its soft, smooth, and never patchy...a gorgeous shade of plum, and I can honestly say my favorite plum or violet shade for medium to light skin, works on a vast array of people, and looks beautiful with a lot of looks. Oddly versatile.

MAC Tan Powder Blush:

4. MAC Powder Blush in Blunt (Matte) This is my favorite contour color. It adds warmth and contours the face nicely. You don't even need an actual blush a dab in the contour works nice...pack it on or swipe gently...great color pay off.

5. MAC Powder Blush in Prism (Matte) Prism is a neutral soft brown blush and when applied has a hint of a soft warm pink undertone. Works nicely on medium down to light skin tones...gently warms the face...works well with soft day looks and dramatic eyes...Depending on the person Tenderling could fit in the category...

6. MAC Cream Bronzer in Weekend (MAC To The Beach Cream Bronzer) this is the darker of the two cream bronzers. They are both limited edtition. Although MAC describes this color as brown with an orange undertone even the fairest of skin tones can apply and rock it without looking orange. The reason I categorized it here is because I didn't want to put it all alone...and MAC To The Beach face charts apply it along nothing else in the cheeks...Although a MAC MUA showed me to contour with it, and I love it as a contour color, I blend it inward then with a stippling brush...has a slight shimmer that really doesn't pick up on my skin...

Note: This is my collection to date...I don't own a lot of pinks, plums, or tans so I lump categorized them. Blog should be easy to get through though.
