MAC Blush Collection & Thoughts Part 3: Peaches & Corals

MAC has several powder blushes in an array of colors and finishes/formulas. I want to start off with some of my favorite coral/peach blushes by MAC since I own more coral/peach blush than any other color family. Categorizing by finish is sooooo detailed...and sometimes its not so much the finish or formula for me so much as the color...

I call them coral/peach because some of my blushes in this family are very nuetral pinky orange blushes which would be a peach, or a cantaloupe, and some others are more vibrant=coral.

1. Top of my coral or peach blush list is a MACPro color...The lovely underrated Cantaloupe (Pro color). This is a satin finish by MAC. Satins have more limited color pay off than a matte color, and a slight shimmer, the texture looks like the back of a satin ribbon. Which is perfect, since sometimes you want a more neutral cheek glowy cheek, especially when the eyes and the lips are generally the focus. MACPRO.com describes this color as being a warm cantaloupe color which is pretty much what it is. Cantaloupe can be pretty bright when it is ripe, and this color is a warmer color and more subtle version of the fruits color.

2. MAC Powder Blush in Tenderling-(Sheertone) Sheertone blushes also have a sheer effect and limited color pay off like a satin, and have a slight bit more shimmer than a satin, not a lot. Tenderling reminds me of a cross between two blushes "The Perfect Cheek" powder blush by MAC, which I don't own, and Cantaloupe blush. Its basically the softest most neutral peachy color you can find. I don't use this color a lot because I am too dark for it right now. I might use it more in the winter.

3. MAC Powder Blush in Pinch O Peach-(Sheertone) this color is described as being a warm wash of peach. It is a soft yellow based pink. Its gorgeous on medium skin tones. If you are too dark for Well Dressed this is a great alternative.

4. MAC Powder Blush in Pinch Me-(Sheertone) I guess I like Sheertones, huh? Color pay off is sheer, but not shabby. Really makes for a nice cheek. Pinch Me struck me because I loved Pinch O Peach so much. It was described on the MAC website as being a rosey coral. The pairing seemed unlikely...I typically don't gravitate to rosey tones, they seem safe to me. But I thought the pairing seemed like an unlikely off beat coral. It is in a way. It is coral, with a rosey undertone...peaches and soft corals tend to be light or electric, and this is a medium coral...Reminds me of a softer Burnt Pepper (PRO Powder Blush).

5. MACPRO Powder Blush in Burnt Pepper-(Matte) Changed up the finish! Pro colors tend to be intense. MAC Pro does a better matte than traditional MAC. MAC Pro's matte formula is as intense as MAC matte squared formula. This color is an intense terracotta. I didn't have anything like this blush, which is why it grabbed me. I'm always on the lookout for something I don't have. I hate to have repeats in my make up bag. Only if the color is a staple for me will I have close calls. It has rave reviews from mostly people with NC or NW 35 and above. I rarely wear this, but its because I am medium. The color is in fact gorgeous. Apply it lightly if below an NC/NW 35.

6. MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power-(Sheertone) this color is sort of a peachy/bubblegum, or what I call a bright yellow based bubblegum pink. According to MAC it is a coral blush. It has a similar color to Posey (Blushcreme), but more warm in tone. I rarely wear this one I am afraid. It is gorgeous however.

7. MAC Powder Blush in Hipness-(Frost) Limited Edition from Heatherette and MAC To The Beach. This color looks like Fleur Power, but a version with white pearl. Its barely a frost. Its more of a Sheertone Shimmer, but MAC categorizes according to formula recipes, not necessarily what it looks more like. Which makes sense...so a frost it is. I rarely wear this color, I do think its gorgeous, color pay off is fantastic, looks great with green eyeshadow looks...One of the few peach/corals I own thats frosty.

8. MACPRO Powder Blush in Salsa Rose-(Sheertone Shimmer) This color reminds me a bit of MAC Cremeblend Blush in Joie-De-Vivre, and MAC Sushi Flower eyeshadow. It is an intense watermelon coral-pink coral with some shimmer. I rarely use it because its intense. But gorgeous.

9. MAC Powder Blush in Peaches-(Satin) this blush is a nice warm soft peach. I think its a good universal blush to have. It has decent color pay off and warms up the cheek nicely.

10. MAC Powder Blush in Style-(Frost) one of my few frost blushes. The color pay off is nice, and it has a soft but slightly vibrant hint of peachy color. Its not a neutral blush. Would also double well as a great eyeshadow.

11. MAC Powder Blush in Margin-(Frost) This is a nice super warm peachy toned color, and would make a great highllight color for dark warm skin.
