IMATS Haul 2010 Look: Hi-Def Cyan Chromagraphic Pencil

So....the Chromagraphic pencils from MAC Pro launched a while ago...I was unable to get to them before IMATS, because I was unable to get the time to go to a Pro store...

I hadn't spent sooo much money on make up on any one day recently...and hadn't allowed myself to go to MAC because I spend too much money in there...MAC has good quality products that aren't outrageously priced, plus they don't try to sell you on crazy packaging and junk product....

So at IMATS I broke my good streak of avoiding MAC and the sweet and helpful MUA's there who share their ideas, and make me want more product to complete the looks they speak of. Anyone who shares with me and is good to me while helping me I can't resist throwing you a little commission.

....Because all the new pro products were under my nose, and I could get through the line in 30 minutes on Sunday morning....yippeeeee....Unlike Saturday....I was a kid in an excited candy store when it came to these Chromagraphics...

So I took advantage of this shorter line/pro booth in my face and bought the new MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in shade Hi Def Cyan...The reason I chose this shade is because I don't have anything like this one...I wanted to try the green and the orange as well, but I figured since I own some Urban Decay 24/7 pencil sets all ready, I could skip on dupable colors...I don't like to overhaul unless I've had time to experiment with a particular item so I only bought one of these for now...

So I didn't want to make a list of all the crap I grabbed up because who cares? But what I did want to do is do is talk about the looks I invented using my purchases from different booths at IMATS...everything I chose to buy at IMATS was special to me because this haul was one of the most unique make up shopping days for me. I love trying new products...but I hate gimmicks...MAC doesn't make those...but they do make pretty colors, limited edition collections, face charts, and produce and hire fabulous MUA's...so I did have to come to this booth to check out some pigments and the chromagraphic pencils...

So on with the look...

1. Prep and prime the face. Apply lid primer, and lip condtioner...allow it to soak in for ten minutes...

2. Using MAC's Nude Cream Color Base Prime the lid only. This will allow for bold and bright application of colors without changing the colors laid on top.

3. Using the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette and the MAC 217 brush take a shimmer bright yellow and apply this color starting in the inner eye and work 1/4 of the way in. Also apply into the inner tear duct as well.

4. Take a nude color from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette that is slightly lighter than your own skintone and apply it into the center of the lid, and blend into the bright yellow.

5. Using the same 217 brush and Tarina Tarantino's Eye Dream Hypershadow (Sephora Exclusive) in shade Sweetzer (shimmer over matte finish in bright kelly green) and apply into the outer eye and blend inward a bit as desired.

6. Using MAC's Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow (MAC To The Beach-citrus kelly green-veluxe pearl) and using the 217 brush apply into the crease only, and stop just before the yellow color in the more inward portion of the eye...

7. Using MAC Pro eyeshadow in Bottle Green (matte bottle green color) and the MAC 219 pencil dome brush apply into the outer corner using the outer < technique...take the MAC 217 and the slightest dab of this color mixed with a dab of the Tarina Tarantino's Eye Dream Hypershadow in Sweetzer and feather it in the outer corner so there are no harsh lines.

8. Using Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Yeyo (shimmery white liner) on the water line...

9. Use Urban Decay's ABC Gum eyeshadow and the MAC 227 brush and highlight the brow bone and blend down a bit...

10. Use MAC's Gesso (matte white) in the outer area of the brow bone with the MAC 227 brush and highlight just a bit over Urban Decay's eyeshadow in ABC Gum. Using MAC's Crystal Avalanche (shimmery white) and the MAC 227 and highlight the inner portion of the brown bone, and into the tear duct...

11. Use MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline and the MAC 226 brush and draw a fine winged liner shape on the upper lashline.

12. Set with MAC's Black Tied...

13. Use MAC's Chromagraphic Pencil in Hi Def Cyan and line the lower lash line, and pull out at the outer corners and connect with the outer < shape in the bottle green color... this adds to the sultry winged eye drama.

14. Use Tarina Tarantino's Eye Dream Hypershadow in Peacock Pearl (bright blue with veluxe pearl style finish) and line over the Chromagraphic Pencil in Hi Def Cyan to set it. The color won't change...these two colors are very much the same.

15. Apply mascara.

16. Apply primer and allow to soak for two minutes, and apply foundation. I did use a coral airbrush blush, but one of the Make Up Peach or Coral blushes will do if you don't have a compressor, also a powder like MAC's blush in Style will do...any pretty bright coral will work well...Also if you have MAC's Cream Color Base in Virgin Aisle also lovely...If you got MAC's Marine Life Highlight Powder (MAC To The Beach), that will work...Use the darker side for blush, and the lighter pink for the highlight.

17. Contour face, I used a cream bronzer.

18. Apply setting powder...if you don't own a cream bronzer contour the face after setting with setting powder...I like my MSF Natural and the MAC 134, which I also purchased at IMATS....my new love...Highlight cheekbones in a soft peachy highlight color for a warm glow...

19. Using the Make Up Forever Aqua Lip in 17C Tangerine, line the outer lipline, and fill in the center and the outer corners. Using Make Up Forevers Aqua Lip in 18C Coral fill in the outline. Using MAC's lip pencil in Beet (deep reddish pinkish coral and fill in the outer corners and blend in with a lip brush...

20. Take MAC's lipstick in Chatterbox (Amplified Cream-bright midtone pink and fill in the entire lip, and blend a bit where needed...at this point lip should be bright pink with an understated peach hue. the lip pencils create contouring and definition, and there shouldn't be visible harsh lines, hust amazing full lip effects and definition.

21. Using MAC's Lipglass in Flurry Of Fun (MAC To The Beach-peach with teal reflects pigment) coat on top in the center of the upper and bottom lip. This color will tie the coral and greens together for the complete look.

*Use what you have...this is a lot of different products....
