So the above pic is what my Snow White tutorial is based on. As I said before this is an actual look, not inspired by. There are a few Snow White tutorials on line, mine is based on her make up and face from the actual 1939 movie, which also happens to be the verrrryyyyy first sull length feature animation cartoon.
This look is the one I was most pleased with. I did about three different Snow White's prior to the actual Snow White, and this is the most special to me, because it really is what was in the cartoon, which happens to be very different from whats on advertisements and calenders. I didn't wanna blog about Snow White in the beginning make up tutorial wise, and reexperiment with looks like a broken record but I had to get it right...It's 1939 when the movie was released, and I didn't wanna look 1950's like a lot of tutorials do with Snow White. I just wanted to channel the 1939 artistry that was used for the medieval time Snow White.
1. Sooooo starting off I applied my face moisturizer, and as always let it soak for ten minutes.
2. Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion. Let it soak for one minute. Apply MAC's Pain Pot in Bare Study (soft biege with gold pearl) on the lids and into the crease with fingertips, not nails.
3. Use chapstick, balm, or lip conditioner. Go back to lips last. They'll be nice and soft by then.
4. Using MAC's 227 brush (fat fatty highlighter, its soooo soft) and MAC's Shroom eyeshadow (soft biege with shimmer-satin) apply all over lid.
5. I was so into using the soft shimmery creamy shadows from the limited edition Urban Decay's Alice In Wonderland Book Of Shadows (how fitting-its Disney shadows) to work the nudes on the eye. It's sooooo Disney like and fairy like and fitting. Even though the look is literal, I wanted to boost it just as Disney would, and lift the Princesses of Disney off the page so to speak.
6. Using the MAC 224 blending brush (black crease brush) and the Urban Decay eyeshadow from the new book in Vorpal (S&M-smokey grey velvet texture) and blend the color in a circular motion into the outer corner, and blend about 2/3 of the way into the crease.
7. Next I used the MAC 224 brush and Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Mushroom (Mushroom-taupey grey brown velvet texture) and blend into the very outer corner.
8. Using MAC's Fascinating Eye Kohl (white) line the waterline. She had no under eye contouring or lining like the other Disney girls after her.
9. Using Urban Decay's liquid eyeliner in Pervursion (matte black) draw a thin consistent line close to the lashline on the upper eyelid. No tail on the end, its too 1950's.
10. Using Ardell's lashes in Wispies (black) and clear lash glue adhear to the upper eyelid. If you are an everything MAC girl I would suggest MAC #4's. Keep it wispy and pretty and the lashes should be black, as Snow White's hair was.
11. Don't over fill in or contour the brows too much. It was sooo thirties to have a soft round brow shape. If your brows are naturally thicker leave them be, this look is a soft wearable beauty look, and can be worn for an occasion, day or night. Spackling the brows is too costumey.
12. Apply foundation, and setting powder. Noooo bronzer....don't feel the need to whiten your face, however a soft luminizing powder brushed over the cheeks and forehead, and chin would soften the face, and round it out and bring it forward nicely.
13. Using MAC's Dollymix blush (pure candy pink-sheertone shimmer) apply to apples of cheeks with the MAC 129 blush brush, and blend softly and gently into hariline. Keep the idea that her face was babydoll like and round. Don't get too costumey.
14. Using MAC's lipstick in Lady Bug (yellow tomato red-lustre) fill in the lips, use Too Faced Borderline, or Urban Decay's 24/7 Ozone Crayon (clear anti feather lip pencils) if needed. But only for the outer corners. Lining inside prevents lipstick from adhering whatsoever.
15. Using Stila Lip Plumping Lip Glaze in Candy (candy coral pink with slight shimmer) and apply over MAC's Lady Bug.
*Note-Snow White's neutral eye look is grey-unlike several other Princesses. I thought the real deal 1939 Snow White by Disney would put a good spin on what happens to be a pile of wearable but fun nude looks.
