Naked Surfer Girl

Hope you enjoy my blog!
I have a great easy, fun, fast, glowy, dewey, frosty beach girl look. This look is pretty for pictures, ID's, school, work, the beach, on the go, it makes you look awake and polished.

Using MACPro lipstick in Peachstock (satin finish-promoted with the Give Me Liberty collection in special packaging!) This lipstick is comparable to MAC's Freckletone (lustre) lipstick. For the most part they are super similar, the finish and color pay off is different. Peachstock is a satin so it has a stronger color payoff than Freckletone, and Peachstock is more matte than Freckletone of course. Satins and Mattes have similarities. Some satins have small shimmer particles in them, but for the most part are usually very matte like, but with a little less color pay off than a matte. This one was interesting because it was the only satin in the Give Me Liberty line, and some people don't have PRO stores anywhere near them, so I do love it when MAC promotes PRO items at MAC stores and counters. They are just more easily obtainable that way. I live in California, and even I have to travel a bit to get pro items. This is a great alternative to Fleshpot (satin nude color) and I didn't even know it existed!

I also wanted to talk about The Balm, which is a line of cosmetics that I am using in the look as well. The Balm has great shades of shadow/liners and it also has palettes, only one comes out at a time, containing 9 different beautiful 3/4" shadows that you can use wet or dry. They also sell them all individually, and a palette is available at all times. A lot of surfer girls and beach girls love this line of cosmetics, because they aren't heavy, they go on easily, and they are good for your skin. The lipsticks are also moisturizing. The blushes are gorgeous. Proceeds from The Balm also go to Pug Rescue! The Balm creates clutch-worthy beauty small enough to fit in the tiniest purses and the tightest jean pockets. In addition to being easy to use and totally interchangeable, they also work double duty (thanks to their amazing formulas) when it comes to beauty benefits. With every new collection, expect to see gorgeous colors in luxurious shades that blend easily into any makeup style, whether you're a natural beauty or the ultimate glamour girl.

What else...so many amazing things are out this spring...Make Up Forever HD Blush is now available, and I am digging it...I hope it doesn't make me itch or break out...I wanted #6, but it was sold out, so I opted for #4. It looked like a lovely yellow based pink in the store. When I got to my car, unfortunately I made the cardinal sin of swatching for the first time...It looked like a bubblegum pink. So I looked it up online and sure enough the blush I wanted that was sold out was what seems to be the color of the season...peach. And what I bought was in fact bubblegum pink. Darn. But I didn't get discouraged. I used to love a good pink...why am I on such a peach blush kick anyway?? So I took off my make up and experimented...by now I was more used to the squeezey tube. I pumped a little bit...it looked more yellow based on my cheek than it did on my hand, which is what I wanted. I wanted something that reminded me of Pinch O' Peach by MAC or So Sweet So Easy. I didn't want something like MAC's Dollymix, which is a true bright dollbaby violet or blue based pink blush, or what I like to call cotton candy pink. So far so good. This is a buildable product. Apply this and build with the MAC 168 a little at a time, and its fabulous...I applied NARS blush in Orgasm over it...definitely pretty...love the combo.

Did I brag too much about these products?

OK....So on with the look...

1. Apply moisturizer, chapstick, and Too Faced Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion all over the lid.

2. Next apply MAC's Rubenesque Paint Pot (peachy gold) lightly on the lid.

3. Using Shady Lady Volume 2 palette from the Balm ($40.00- palette contains 9 3/4" veluxe pearl type shadows) apply Devilish Danielle (creamy biege) over the Rubenesque Paint Pot, and pat it on with a shader brush like the MAC 239.

4. Using Tempting Tara (frosty white) apply into the crease and up to brow bone.

5. Using Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner in Zero (matte black) apply to lower and upper waterlines all the way in.

6. Using Bare Minerals Define-A-Lash black mascara apply a few coats of mascara, wiggle into the lash line, and hold wand vertically and get the lower lashes too. This provides you pinpoint lash perfection, seperation, inky black lashes, and length.

7. Using Benefits Bad Gal Lash in black apply a few coats to make the lashes look full and flirty, get the outer corners, and pull them out to the sides. Use a little on the bottom as well. Your lashes should look amazing and practically false.

8. Because you nestled the mascara wand as deep as it could go, you won't need any eyeliner on the upper lash line. It would be too dramatic anyways for the look, and could smudge off and give you racoon eyes if you were going to the beach. If you did want more depth though, you could take an angled stiff brush, and using Insane Jane (brown grey pewter color) and line the upper lash line using the product dry. You could spray Fix Plus from MAC over the brush that has the product already on it if you wanted it to look darker. Don't make the shadows themselves wet. I realize the cosmetic company says you can, but I would avoid that, you don't want to wreck your investment.

9. Using Mischevious Marissa (coppery taupe) apply over Insane Jane with the angled brush into the lashline for a little warmth. This color brings out all eye colors, blue, green, hazel, and brown.

10. For foundation apply a mixture of your foundation, a drop of moisturizer, and a drop of Smashbox Artificial Light Flash Luminizing Lotion, mix the mediums onto your hand and blend into your face with a brush or even your fingertips. You should get a natural light weight coverage with a beautiful bronzey glow. Perfect for the beach, you don't want your face running everywhere, and you don't wanna look cakey.

11. Apply Make Up Forever HD Blush in your color choice, I have #4 Walk Of Shame (bubblegum pink) with the MAC 168, and apply onto the back of your hand, and grab just a dot into your brush, and build the color on.

12. Apply MAC Cream Base in Shell, Luna, or Pearl onto the upper cheekbones for a smooth natural glow. I used Shell because I am a medium skin tone, Pearl would look good on medium as well, Luna would be too white for me nut if you are a very pale ivory color that would be a perfect creamy luminizer.

13. I set my HD blush with NARS Orgasm (the peachy pink coral after sex glow blush) onto the apples with my MAC 168.

14. I also used MAC's Iridescent Loose Powder in Golden Bronze over the Shell Cream Base, and down the bridge of the nose.

15. Using a light setting powder lightly dab it on the forehead, nose, and chin, where cream products move the most.

16. Using MAC's Peachstock lipstick apply to the lips.

17. Apply MAC's Lustreglass in Love Nectar (apricot with gold pearl) on top.

Note: This may sound like a lot of product. A lot of the Sephora items used were samples, like the Smashbox Artificial Light Flash Luminizer, and the Bad Gal Lash. You really don't need all of it, but if you have some of those items or like items don't be afraid to experiment.
