Summer Of Love @ Woodstock

Hope you enjoy my blog!

This summer is all about the 70's. But more richer and bolder than ever before. In the past it was all peace and peasant blouses. This summer its peace, love, and optimistic in a trance/Pink Floyd for Wizard Of Oz type of colors.

So along with the limited edition Summer Of Love palette came some amazing 1970's inspired colors from Urban Decay like Haight, Dashiki, Freelove, Woodstock, Aquarius, and Psychellic Sister.

All these colors are bold, insane, and have great finishes, color pay off and texture. The next best thing since their primer potions, volumes of shadows, and the 24/7 liners.

So I used sooooo much colors for this look Im going to do a short and sweet break down of all that I used. No over blogging aside from the introduction.

What else before I begin? I plan on getting Haight, Aquarius, and Freelove, and the Get Baked Bronzer from Urban Decay, and Gash 24/7 Lip Crayon. Also from Stila: the Kitten Smudgepot...It'll look amazing as a base for the Summer Of Love colors...Can't wait.

So here it is:

1. Eyes: Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer on the lid, and up to the brow bone.

2. Apply MAC Coral Crepe Paint Pot all over lid, avoiding the inner tear duct.

2. Pat the Urban Decay eyeshadow in Woodstock (hot fuschia pink with velvet texture, and silver glitter pigment) over the lid with a paddle brush. I used MAC's 239. Coat all of Coral Crepe Paint Pot.

3. Using MAC's Pearlglide liner in Designer Purple (MAC Art Supplies Collection-Intense violet) and draw a line in the crease. This technique is called crease cutting, and soften it out with the MC 219 to blur the harsh line.

4. Using Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Flash (Bright Purple with velvet texture-Summer Of Love Palette, Show Pony PAleete, and known as Underworld in the Alice Of Wonderland Book Of Shadows), and using a crease bledning brush (MAC 222 or 217) and blend into the crease over the Designer Purple liner, to soften the hard line. Blend up a little bit. Go only 3/4 of the way in.

5. Using Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Grifter (soft lilac with sliver glitter-known as Curiouser in Alice In Wonderland Book Of Shadows), and the MAC 217 blend in the rest of the way so you have an ombre or gradient effect.

6. Using Naked Lunch from MAC (neutral frost color with pink undertone), and apply to the brow bone as a highlight effect with a highlight brush or large paddle brush. Blend down to soften harsh or lines that are too dark, so it blends into a gradient effect.

7. Using the 219 brush apply Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Polyester Bride (white with white glitter-known as White Rabbit in the Alice In Wonderland Book Of Shaodws) into the tear duct.

8. Apply a black gel liner with an angled brush to the upper lid, and add a slight wing. Liner should always point upwards.

9. Set the gel liner with the MAC 219 and Oil Slick eyeshadow (known as Jabberwocky). Apply a mixture of Underworld and Jabberwocky to the outer corner with the MAC 217 for some depth, blend inward.

10. Line the waterline 3/4 of the way in with MAC Feline Kohl Power Pencil.

11. Apply MAC eyeshadow in Flash to the lower lid. This also helps keep the black liner in the waterline from bleeding noticeably below your eye and smudging onto your face.

12. Apply Mascara to upper and lower lashes.

Cheeks:

13. Using a mixture of a soft bubblegum pink and a nuetral blush apply to cheekbone and into hairline.

14. I used a mixture of Make Up Forever's #6, and #8 HD Microfinish Blush.

15. Apply a pink pearly highlight to the cheeks.

16. Apply bronzer, its summer, you want that glow, especially with all the harsh and deep colors.

Lips:

17. Apply MAC Lip Kohl Power Pencil in Plum to the lips, and shade lips in completely.

18. Outline and contour the lips in with MAC's Technakohl Eyeliner in Purple Dash (MAC in Lillyland) and blend inward and shade with a lip brush like the MAC 316 (or basically a paddle brush made of synthetic hairs), and create a sunset effect.

19. Apply MAC's lipstick in Blooming Lovely (greyed lilac-Amplified Cream-Liberty Of London Collection) to the lips.

20. Apply MAC's Tanarama Lipstick (nude biege frost) to lips to soften and highlight.

21. Using MAC's Lipglass in English Accents (raspberry sorbet-Liberty Of London Collection) over the top of Blooming Lovely to cut the grey in Blooming Lovely.

22. Using MAC's Lip Gelee in Shift To Pink (for extra fun-super sparkly lavender pink-MAC in Lillyland Collection) and apply to lips for editorial effect.

Hope that was cut and dry enough.
